🔊 Listen to the article:
Alter Bridge is back: After four years of waiting, the Florida hard rock quartet released their eighth studio album — a self-titled record — on January 9, 2026, via Napalm Records.
The band's previous release, Pawns & Kings, came out in October 2022, and during the hiatus, members kept busy with side projects: Mark Tremonti and Scott Phillips rejoined Creed, while Myles Kennedy pursued his solo career. But Alter Bridge never stays away for long.
⏳ Four Years Since the Last Album
Produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette at 5150 Studios, the band returned sharper than ever. During the hiatus, Mark Tremonti and Scott Phillips rejoined Creed for a world reunion tour, while Myles Kennedy released his second solo album and toured extensively.
By mid-2024, all four members were back in the studio, channeling that accumulated energy into what would become their most focused record in years.
🎸 What Does the Album Sound Like?
This is Alter Bridge at their most confident. The record leans into heavier territory with a clear nod to the Blackbird and Fortress era, packed with massive riffs and Myles Kennedy's vocals in top form. Silent Divide sets the tone right away — slow, heavy, and impossible to ignore.
From there the album rolls through Power Down and Disregarded without letting up, before closing with Slave to Master, nine minutes of piano and pure weight that wraps everything up in the best way possible.
